Serra da Freita is “the mountain”, for those in the north of the District of Aveiro. Between Arouca and Vale de Cambra, up there, you can see the sea and, specially on winter days, from the Coast, the contours of the bollards, white, cold, inviting you for a trip.

With an arid, wild, bucolic, or mountain range, roads from the WRC,  flanked by forest, shared with beautiful examples of cattle and goats. A Frecha da Mizarela, the villages of Albergaria da Serra and Manhouce, river beaches, Pedras Parideiras, are mandatory places for those who want to pass through the Serra.

Going down to Arouca, the Monastery and the gastronomy is almosta an obligation, highlighting the Posta Arouquesa, the sponge cake and the sweet chestnuts.
